Delhi Police books Sonia Gandhi's Personal Secretary on rape charges

New Delhi: Delhi Police have registered a case against PP Madhavan, Personnel Secretary of Congress chief Sonia Gandhi, for allegedly raping a woman on the pretext of marriage and job.

On June 25, police received a complaint at Uttam Nagar Police Station. A case was registered and probe initiated, said police.

"A case was registered at Uttam Nagar Police Station against the personal secretary of a senior leader of a prominent political party following allegation of rape against him," police sources said.

DCP Dwarka M Harsha Vardhan said, "A case has been registered against a 71-year-old under Sections 376 and 506 of IPC. The accused was working as personal secretary to a senior political leader.

"We are investigating the allegations," he added. (Inputs from UNI)
