, Tuesday, 25 October 2016 (15:50 IST)
New Delhi: Delhi Police has announced an increase in the reward to Rs one-lakh for any information leading to JNU student Najeeb Ahmed, who has been missing since October 15.

Ahmed, a student of School of Biotechnology, disappeared after he had an altercation with some Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad (ABVP) students at the Mahi-Mandavi hostel. Earlier, Delhi Police had announced reward of Rs 50000 but despite that with no trace of the missing student, they have raised the amount to Rs one-lakh yesterday.

The varsity has been in turmoil since his missing as students were protesting in various parts of the national capital demanding that Ahmed be traced. Yesterday, JNU Vice Chancellor M Jagadesh Kumar met Delhi Police Commissioner Alok Kumar over the issue. (UNI)
