Pune: In a shocking incident on the occasion of Doctors Day, a young doctor couple committed suicide in the Wanowrie area here.The incident came to light when the husband committed suicide by hanging himself Thursday morning.
Wanowrie Police have identified the deceased as Nikhil Dattatray Shendkar (27) and his wife Ankita Nikhil Shendkar (26). The Pune police have registered accidental death.
According to information by Wanowrie police, both residents of Azadnagar area were practicing as doctors in different locations. The couple often used to have fights over petty issues.
Police said that on Wednesday night When Nikhil was returning home he and Ankita had a verbal spat over a phone. When Nikhil reached home, he saw Anikta had committed suicide by hanging herself last night. Shocked by the incident Nikhil hanged himself to death on Thursday morning, police said.The police have registered an accidental death case as they are investigating various angles.(UNI)
