Demonetisation: EC asks govt to avoid using indelible ink on customers

New Delhi: The Election Commission today asked the Centre to avoid using indelible ink on people exchanging old currency notes of higher denomination in the banks. The Poll Panel wrote to the Finance Ministry stating the use of indelible ink may affect the ongoing process of Lok Sabha and Assembly by-elections.

Rules regarding use of the ink during polls should be taken into consideration while using on the fingers of the customers, the letter added. (UNI)
