End BJP exile in UP; reject Akhilesh with his 'sinking ship': PM

Ghaziabad: In a scathing attack on the Akhilesh Government in Uttar Pradesh, Prime Minister Narendra Modi today appealed to the people to end the 14 years exile of 'development' in the state by throwing out the ‘’corrupt’’ Samajwadi Party dispensation. "This election is not to decide who will be MLA. It is to end 14 years exile of UP's development,’’ the Prime Minister said while addressing a 'Parivartan Sankalp' rally of BJP in this western UP district that goes to polls on February 11.

Mr Modi said the ruling SP dispensation had injected the venom of casteism in all the state government departments and because of that they were scuttling various well-intentioned schemes of the Centre. Congress, Mr Modi said, had spoilt the entire nation and the Akhilesh Government was so weak and nervous that it had embraced the sinking ship. Attacking the Chief Minister over family feud, Mr Modi said that people of the state know what he had done with his father (Mulayam Singh Yadav) and uncle (Shivpal Yadav) and asked Akhilesh to give details of work done by him in the last five years to the people. "People are aware what you have done with your father and uncle.

Now, you should give details of work of past five years to the people," he said. On law and order, the Prime Minister questioned the Samajwadi Party leadership and said that after sunset, women cannot go out alone as they are unsafe. "Even 8th and 9th standard girls are harassed by bad elements," he said. The Prime Minister said that when the governments of Rajnath Singh and Kalyan Singh were there in the state, all goons were put behind bars or they had to leave UP. Taking a dig at the Chief Minister, he said, "Everyday there are incidents of rape and killings but he is not bothered about the improvement of law and order.

You have made me Prime Minister, the moment BJP forms Government in UP, I will give you justice." He also appealed to the people to weed out corruption from the state by punishing the SP Government in the polls. Mr Modi said that he had taken a slew of measures to stamp out corruption as the termite was ruining various segments of the society. He made it clear that his crusade against corruption could not make headway unless the BJP was voted to power in the Hindi heartland and most populous state of the nation.
