Former MP CM Sunder Lal Patwa passes away

Bhopal: Senior BJP leader and former Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Sunder Lal Patwa passed away after suffering a heart attack here today. He was 92. He was rushed to hospital where he was declared dead by doctors. He is survived by his wife Phoolkunwar Patwa and nephew Surendra Patwa, who is the Minister of State (Independent Charge) for Culture, Tourism, Farmer Welfare and Agriculture Development.
 

Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan and other senior party leaders reached the hospital. Even as a pall of gloom descended on the state following Patwa’s demise, official sources said that the Chief Minister has announced three days' state mourning. Patwa’s body would be kept in the state BJP office this afternoon for paying last respects. The last rites would be performed with full state honours at his native town Kukdeshwar in Neemuch district tomorrow. (UNI)
