The Ekal Vidyalaya Foundation needs no introduction. The numbers speak for themselves. It is the single largest non-profit organization in India which works in rural areas to make a positive and impactful change in the status-quo. Ekal works on grassroot level to help increasing social awareness among the villagers. "Ek Shikshak, Ek Vidyalaya" is the motto of Ekal which means "one teacher for every school." Ekal runs over 51,000 such schools in rural India helping over a million students to attain primary education and give them a ray of hope to do better in life. Ekal has recently released a theme song elaborating its cause.

The song was released by Union HRD Minister Prakash Jawadekar last month and it was uploaded on Youtube on november 1. And in a beutifully-filmed high-definition video song, we see what it means to be Ekal Vidyalaya Foundation. No paper, no report can tell us better than this video that how significant is the work done by Ekal on the grassroot level of rural India, as we sit comfortably in our seats, complaining about everything without getting our hands dirty. The refrain of the song emphasise on the Ekal theme, playing a pun with the word "Ekal" as "Ek kal", which stands for "Single" as well as the "Tomorrows to follow."

The song is written by Sunayana Kachroo, set to music by Prasanna and sung by Anuradha Palakurthi and Hariharan. Anuradha is also the executive producer of the video. Sanjiv Sharma is the director of the video, Rajendra Bhatia is associate director and camera is held by Rajendra Singh.

Founded in 1986, Ekal Vidyalaya Foundation is still going stronger as it completes its 30 years of selfless service.

These five minutes can fill us with a lot of hope and sense of purpose.
