Foursome hailing from minority community nabbed after allegedly raping a 16 year old girl

Kozhikode: Kerala Police on Saturday arrested four migrant youths from Uttar Pradesh (UP) for allegedly raping a 16-year-old girl.

The teenager hails from Birno in Ghazipur district of UP. She was allegedly raped and abandoned at Kozhikode Railway Station on Friday morning.According to police, they arrested Ikrar Ali (18), Ajaj (25), Shakeersha (42) and Irshad (23), all hailing from UP and employed in various hotels in Kozhikode.The police said the victim girl, who was going to her sister's house, who is residing at Chennai by Varanasi-Patna Express train.

The two accused Ikrar Ali and Ajaj befriended her during the journey on the train. One of the youths promised to marry the girl and forced her not to alight at Chennai in Tamil Nadu.
All the three proceeded their journey and were alighted at Palakkad railway station on Thursday.

Then they traveled to Kozhikode by bus. On the way, the youths contacted their relatives Shakeersha and Irshad, who were residing in Kozhikode and they arranged a lodge at Palayam near the Kozhikode railway station and allegedly raped her at the lodge.She was then brought to the railway station and abandoned at the railway platform to return her to Chennai.

The Railway Protection Force (RPF) noticed the girl screaming around 1030 hrs on Friday and inquired about the matter.RPF alerted the Child Welfare Committee and Kasaba police.

The girl was shifted to Government shelter home for girls at Vellimadukunnu in the district and her health condition is stable, the police said.Kasaba police arrested the four youths from nearby the Kozhikode railway station and registered two cases including POCSO and rape.

They would be produced before the court in the evening, the police said.Kasaba police contacted the UP police and found that a missing girl case was lodged under Birno Police station in Ghazipur.(UNI)
