Prayagraj: Girls once again fared well as compared to boys in the results of high school and intermediate examinations for the year 2023 conducted by the Board of Secondary Education (UP Board), Asia's largest examination body, announced on Tuesday.
Talking to the reporters, Director of Secondary Education Council (Uttar Pradesh) Mahendra Nath Deo said that the pass percentage of girls in high school is 6.7 per cent more than the pass percentage of boys among all the examinees. He said that while the pass percentage of girls is 93.34, the pass percentage of boys is 86.64.
He said that while the pass percentage of the entire high school students was 89.78 percent, the pass percentage of the intermediate students was 75.52 percent.
The Director said that a total of 31,16,454 candidates registered for the high school examination of which 31,06,157 were institutional and 10,297 were private students. He said that 28,63,621 candidates appeared in which 28,54,879 were institutional and 8,742 were private.
He said that in Intermediate, 27,68,180 candidates were registered in which 25,85,718 were institutional and 1,82,462 were private students. He said that out of the total registered candidates, 25,71,002 candidates appeared in which 24,11,402 were institutional and 1,59,600 were private. (UNI)
