Panaji: A pastor and his wife have been arrested in Goa for allegedly luring people to convert to Christianity, a police official said on Friday.
The couple, Dominic D'Souza and his wife Joan, were allegedly offering people cash or promising to cure them of ailments. They were held on Thursday after separate complaints were filed against them.
They used to operate from Siolim, a village 23 km away from the capital city.
''They were arrested for promoting enmity on the ground of religion and deliberate malicious acts intended to outrage religious feelings under the relevant section of Drugs and Magic Remedies Act,'' the official said. (UNI)
