Kasargod: Police has registered a case against 23 persons for celebrating Pakistan 's victory against India in the final of ICC Champions Trophy held on June 18. Police said case has been registered under sedition charges against Chakkula Rasaq and Mashood Siraj and other known people for shouting anti-India and pro- Pak slogans at Badiyaduka in this district soon after conclusion of the final, at Oval in England.
The case has been registered on a complaint by Bharatiya Janata Party leader Rajesh Shetty, police added. However, no arrest has been made so far in the case. Reports said 19 others, including 15 in Burhanpur in Madhya Pradesh and four in Karnataka were arrested under sedition charges for taking out demonstrations hailing Pakistan. (UNI)
