Gruesome murders: 3 of family hacked to death in Tamil Nadu

Chennai: In a gruesome incident, three members of a family were hacked to death in Tiruppur district of Tamil Nadu late on Thursday night.

The incident occurred at Pongalur-Semalai Koundampalayam village near Avinashipalayam and the motive behind the killing was being ascertained.

The deceased were identified as farmer couple Deivasigamani, his wife Amalathaal and their son Senthilkumar, who was staying in Coimbatore, but had come to his native home for a function.

Acting on information, police rushed to the spot and shifted the bodies to a government hospital for post mortem.

Police investigations are to ascertain whether it was a murder for gain or any previous enmity was involved in it.
