Hyderabad:Justice has been rendered to the victims in the serial rape and murder cases of Hajipur village under Rachakonda Police Commissionerate limits, said Director General of Police (DGP) Mahendar Reddy.
A Special court in Nalgonda on Thursday gave the death penality to Marri Srinivas Reddy after convicting him of raping and killing three minor girls in Hajipur village in Yadari Bhuvanagiri district of Telangana state.
In a statement, Mr Reddy said the serial rapist and murderer has been awarded death penalty in two cases and life imprisonment in another case.
We convey our gratitude to all the witnesses, family members of the victims and civil society for firmly standing behind the prosecution and deposing evidence in the court of law in the interest of justice, the DGP said we express our gratitude to Court for expeditiously completing the process of trial.
He congratulated Rachakonda Commissioner of Police Mahesh Bhagawat, Yadadri DCP, Narayana Reddy, Bhongir ACP, Bhujanga Rao, and their entire team of officers who worked relentlessly to collect evidence and complete the investigation in a professional manner and help the prosecution to complete the trial at the earliest in a record time.
The DGP also congratulated C Chandra Shekhar, Special Public Prosecutor, appointed for this purpose for having done a meticulous job in presenting all the evidences cogently before the court of law.
