Hundreds pay homage to Lt Ummer Fayaz

New Delhi: Hundreds of people gathered at the iconic India Gate this evening to pay homage to Lt Ummer Fayaz, the young officer who was abducted and killed by the terrorists on Wednesday, by holding a candle march. People from various walks of life, primarily ex armed forces personnel, Fayaz’s course mates, Navodaya Vidyalaya teachers and members, participated in the candle march remembering Fayaz.
 

Fayaz was abducted by militants from his relative’s house in Shopian district on Tuesday night. The young officer of the Rajputana Regiment was on leave to attend a cousin’s wedding in the home town. Police later found his bullet-riddled body in Harmain area of Shopian.(UNI)
