Hyderabad: Boyfriend stabs 20-yr-old woman 18 times after she gets engaged to another man

Hyderabad: A 20-year-old woman was allegedly stabbed 18 times with a knife by a man after she refused to marry him.

Police said, the 20-year-old, who hails from Chandrakala village, Doulatabad Mandal in Vikarabad district, was in relationship with Basavaraju (23) of Thimmarddy village in the same Mandal. But the parents of the women did not accept their relationship and held engagement with another, three months back.

After engagement, she was shifted to her uncle's house situated at Hasthinapuram in L B Nagar area of the city. Keeping a grudge against her, Basavaraju, who is working in a private firm near Sun City in the city, went to her house and stabbed her.

The injured woman was shifted to a nearby private hospital by her relatives for treatment.

The locals caught him and handed over to the Police.

A case has been registered and an investigation is underway. ( Inputs from UNI)
