Hyderabad police bust rave party: RRR actor Ram Charan’s cousin Niharika Konidela and Telugu Bigg Boss winner Rahul Sipligunj detained, later released

Hyderabad: The city police have busted a rave party which was held in a hotel situated at Banjara Hills here in the wee hours on Sunday and 157 people were taken into custody in this connection. 

On credible information, Task Force teams of North, Central and West zone conducted a raid on a hotel in Banjara hills 0230 hours early today and 157 people including 99 men, 39 women and 19 pub staff were taken into custody when they were conducting a rave party in the pub beyond their time limit, police sources said.

Some reports claim, ‘RRR’ star Ram Charan’s cousin and south actress Niharika Konidela and Telugu Bigg Boss winner and singer Rahul Sipligunj were amongst those detained after drug-bust raid.

After hours of being under custody, Niharika and Rahul were released.

A few hours after her release, Niharika’s father Naga Babu released a statement saying that Niharika is innocent. He further said that police have taken action against the pub for running the party after allowed hours, but they informed him that she did not do anything wrong.

During the raid, police reportedly seized some drugs and a drug contained cigarettes from their possession.

A case has been registered and an investigation is underway, police said. (Inputs from UNI)
