"I will not be there in the morning, only my belongings will": Woman jumps off a 6-storey hostel building in Hyderabad

Hyderabad: A 22-year-old woman allegedly committed by suicide by jumping off from a six-storey hostel building in Siddique Nagar, Gachibowli here.

The incident occurred at midnight on Monday but came to light when her parents lodged a complaint at the police station on Wednesday.

According to police, the deceased, identified as Risoj from Kolkata, was residing in the Sterling PG Hostel under Madhapur police station limits and worked as an HR professional in an IT company.

Before the incident, she posted a message on Instagram around midnight on February 3, stating, "I will not be there in the morning… only my belongings will remain." Concerned by the message, her friend alerted her parents, who tried calling her, but she did not answer. Shortly afterward, she jumped from the sixth floor of the hostel building.

Upon receiving information, the police shifted the body to Osmania Hospital for postmortem.

A case has been registered based on her parents’ complaint, and an investigation is underway.
