New Delhi: A Mi-17 V5 helicopter of Indian Air Force (IAF) today made a force landing immediately after taking off from a helipad north Badrinath in Uttarakhand. All crew members and passengers are reported safe, an IAF spokesperson told UNI. No civilian casualty or damage to civilian property reported.

Army personnel, including officers of 12 Grenadiers were practicing inter-valley movement at Ghastoli helipad between Badrinath and Mana pass, when the pilot of the chopper decided to abort the take off. After its forced landing the helicopter toppled. A Court of Inquiry (CoI) has been ordered to ascertain cause of the accident, the spokesman said. (UNI)
