In a first, all parties come together to form Opposition-less government in Nagaland

Kohima: The political parties of Nagaland with Nationalist Democratic Progressive Party (NDPP), Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and Naga Peoples' Front (NPF) and Independent members of the Nagaland Legislative Assembly had a meeting at the State Banquet Hall in Kohima and unanimously resolved to adopt the nomenclature of United Democratic Alliance (UDA) for the opposition-less Government in Nagaland, which will be christened as Nagaland United Government (NUG).

The political parties have issued a joint resolution, which was signed by NDPP leaders Chief Minister Neiphiu Rio and NDPP President Chingwang Konyak; BJP party Deputy Chief Minister and BLP leader Y. Patton and Nagaland BJP President and Minister Temjen Imna Along; NPF leader T R Zeliang and NPF Secretary General Achumbemo Kikon and Independent legislator and Minister Tongpang Ozukum. The joint issued by the leaders said that the meeting unanimously resolved to adopt the nomenclature of United Democratic Alliance (UDA) for the opposition-less Government in Nagaland.

Later talking to newsmen Nagaland Minister for Planning & Coordination, Land Revenue and Parliamentary Affairs & the Spokesperson Neiba Kronu confirmed on the nomenclature of the opposition-less Government in Nagaland and said that the members had a lengthy discussion, not only about the state political situation and Naga political issue. On the protracted Naga political issue, Kronu reiterated the seriousness of the Core Committee and the members. He also informed that Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma, who is also the Convener of North-East Democratic Alliance (NEDA) will be coming to Dimapur on September 21 to meet the negotiating parties. Stating that the members will try to meet the negotiating parties along with Sarma, Kronu said Sarma's assignment is now at initial stage, but he is well versed about Naga political issue.

Kronu expressed confidence in former Special Director of Intelligence Bureau (IB) and Government of India's representative Akshaya Kumar Mishra, who is currently visiting Nagaland, knew the Naga political issue and hoped that the outcome will be positive in near future. (UNI)
