Jhunjhunu: In Jhunjhunu district ex-servicemen have come forward to help the local authorities in dealing with the COVID-19 pandemic and have formed two Quick Response Teams for the purpose.

Last year during the first wave of the COVID-19 also, these ex-servicemen played a significant role in helping the local administration in dealing with the crisis on almost every front.

On the call given by the Sainik Kalyan Adhikari in the district, the ex-servicemen have formed the QRT teams which come to the aid of people wherever and whenever it is required, sources said.

These ex-servicemen go from village-to-village at the own expense and are trying to spread awareness among the people regarding COVID and the SOPs.

They are often accompanied by policemen in this endeavour.

According to sources, they use loudspeakers to appeal to the people to wear masks, maintain social distance, and not venture out needlessly. They also made the people aware of following government guidelines. (UNI)
