Bengaluru: India wrested back the initiative dismissing Australia for 276 in its first innings, as left arm spinner Ravindra Jadeja took six for 63 on the third day of the second test match being played here today.

The visitors resuming at 237 for 6 lost the remaining four wickets with addition of just 39 runs, but earned an useful first innings lead of 87 runs, which could come in handy at the end, on a difficult M Chinnaswamy stadium wicket to bat.Much was depended on overnight batsmen Mathew Wade (40) and Mitchel Starc (26) and the duo added a crucial 39 runs for the seventh wicket before Starc was out caught by Jadeja at mid-wicket to give Ravichandran Ashwin his second wicket.

Then Jadeja ran through the lower order dismissing Wade, trapping the keeper batsman leg before, dismissing Australian bowling hero in the first inning Nathan Lyon in the same manner for zero and the last man Josh Hazalwood (1) was caught by K L Rahul in long on.
Jadeja was acrually on a hat-trick after he scalped Wade and Lyon but Hazalwood scuttled it.
However, Jadeja picked three quick wickets in his 4.4 over spell that helped India bounce back into contention. While Ashwin took two for 84 fast bowlers Ishant Sharma and Umesh Yadav took a wicket apiece.

India, after winning the first test at Pune has to win this match to stay in contention for a series win in the four match series.Indian openers K L Rahul and Abhinav Mukund began on a confident note in the second innings scoring 38 for no loss in just 10 overs at lunch with Mukund hitting a six of Hazalwood with the top edge sailing over square leg boundary.
