Kiwis ran through Indian batting line up on day 1

Kanpur: India were restricted to 291 for 9 at stumps on day one of the first Test match played against New Zealand at the Green Park Stadium here today. The visitors restricted the hosts for 291/9 in 90 overs.

For India Murali Vijay and Cheteshwar Pujara's were the top scorers with 65 and 62 as other Indian batsman Rohit Sharma (35) and KL Rahul (32) also lost their wickets. Ravichandran Ashwin too contributed with his bat scoring 40 off 76. For New Zealand, left-arm seamer Trent Boult (3/57) and left-arm spinner Mitchell Santner (3/77) fetched three wickets each.
