India’s mixed double’s pair of Sania and Bopanna outlasted Britain's Andy Murray and Heather Watson 6-4,6-4 to storm into the semi final of mixed-doubles event of the Olympic Tennis competition here.The 4th-seeded Indian pair took only 67 minutes to clinch the match.
Murray came into the match looking very tired,having fought a grim two hour battle to his singles quarterfinal The world number two, winner of three Grand Slams and the defending Olympic champion, seemed to be saving his energy for the singles.

Vikas cruises into the quarter final of Boxing.

India’s boxer Vikas Krishan outclassed Onder Sipal of Turkey 3-0, to enter the quarter-finals of men’s middleweight (75kg) category at the ongoing Rio Olympics here.The Haryana boxer dominated all three rounds of the Round of 16 clash on Friday to clinch a unanimous decision with the judges scoring 30-27, 29-28, 29-28 in his favour.Vikas, who is just one win away from a medal, will now face Bektemir Melikuziev of Uzbekistan for a berth in the last four stage.

Indian Men Hockey enters Quarter Final of Olympics after 36 years

Despite a heartbreaking loss against Germany and Netherlands, India has surged into the final eight of the Men hockey, thanks to the draw (4-4) match between Argentina and Germany. However, India’s men’s hockey fails to impress in the last league match against Canada with a scoreline of 2-2. Team Sreejesh have to pull up their socks as men hockey may lock horns with the table toppers of other Group.
