Srinagar: Terming booking of a 15-year-old boy under Unlawful Activities Prevention Act, 1967 (UAPA) as another example of institutionalized tyranny, former chief minister Mehbooba Mufti asked if anyone in the country cares.
Hitting out at the administration, Ms Mehbooba, who is the president of Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), said 'not being satisfied with converting Kashmir into an open air prison where dissent is crushed this regime is now going after children'.
“Booking a 15 year old under UAPA is yet another example of institutionalised tyranny. Not being satisfied with converting Kashmir into an open air prison where dissent is crushed this regime is now going after children. Does anyone in the country care?,” Ms Mehbooba wrote on micro-blogging site twitter.
She was responding to reports that a class 10th student was arrested and booked under UAPA for allegedly raising 'anti-national' slogans at a funeral in north Kashmir district of Kupwara. (UNI)
