Jilted lover stabs 19 yr old Techie girl student to death

Vijayawada: In a gruesome incident, a jilted lover allegedly stabbed an engineering girl student to death at her residence at Kristhurajapuram here on Thursday and later stabbed himself in a bid to end his life. 
Police said that the accused Nagendra Babu alias Chinna Swamy stabbed Divya Tejaswani (19) at her house with a knife on her throat and stomach and later inflicted knife injuries on himself. 
 
The girl was shifted to the ESI hospital and later she was shifted to the GGH in Guntur where she succumbed to injuries while undergoing treatment.
 
The family members were not at home when the incident took place. Sometime later the mother of the deceased returned home and found her daughter in a pool of blood and shifted her to hospital. 
 
The deceased girl was studying third year at an engineering college in Bhimavaram and had been staying at home for the last few months. The accused Nagendra Babu, who was working as a carpenter, had been allegedly forcing the deceased to love him for the last few months.
 
The accuse was admitted to a hospital here and later he was shifted to the GGH in Guntur where his condition was said to be critical.
 
Talking to the media, the brother of the deceased girl said that the accused Nagendra Babu was an acquaintance to the family but they did not know about their love affair.
 
Commissioner of police B Srinivasulu and other police officials visited the scene of offence. Mr Srinivasulu told media that the police are investigating the incident and full details would be given in the evening.
 
Vijayawada (East) MLA Gadde Ramamohan Rao consoled the bereaved family members. He held the government responsible for the heinous incident. 
 
AP Mahila Samakya President Durga Bhavani expressed shock over the incident and demanded the government to punish the accused strongly and take steps to ensure that such incidents do not take place in future. The brutal murder of the girl student at her house created a sensation in the city.(UNI)
