Kakinada: A harassed father, unable to bear the physical and mental torture day in and day out, over a property affair, has resorted to the extreme action of beating him to death with an iron rod while asleep at his house in the Indrapalem area here on Tuesday, police said.
Both Gudala Venkatarao (54) and his son Gudala Aravind Surya (26) are drivers.
The deceased, an alcoholic, was highly indebted to the tune of Rs. 3 lakhs and forced the father to sell away the only house to clear off the debts.
Unable to bear the harassment, the father resorted to the extreme action of killing him.
He was arrested and was remanded to judicial custody, Indrapalem police added.
