Bengaluru: Karnataka Revenue Minister R Ashok on Wednesday underlined that the unlocking process in the state will be held phase by phase depending upon the prevailing situation.

Speaking to reporters here on Wednesday, he said that to begin with the government may extend trade timing till 12 noon and allow walking and jogging in parks. However, these are subject to approval by the Chief Minister.

Chief Minister B S Yediyurappa will be holding a meeting through video conference with all Deputy Commissioners on Thursday in order to review the situation of the Covid-19 second wave which has been slowly coming down and discuss on the issue to unlock after June 14 till the lockdown was imposed.

Karnataka had extended its Covid-19 lockdown till June 14 and speculations are rife that steps will be taken for a graded unlocking, as was also suggested by the state's technical advisory committee.

The state, which until a few days ago was reporting a high number of daily infections and deaths, has seen a decline over the past few days. (UNI)
