New Delhi: Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal today expressed surprise over Lieutenant Governor Najeeb Jung's resignation. He also wished him all the best for his future. "Mr Jung's resignation is a surprise to me. My best wishes in all his future endeavours," the Chief Minister said in his first reaction to Mr Jung's reaction. Delhi Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia also said despite bitter-sweet relations with the LG, they have carried out various development works in the national capital for the benefit of the people of the state.
Wishing him all the best for his future, Mr Sisodia in a tweet said,"Despite bittersweet relation with Mr Jung, we have done good work for Delhi." In a surprise stint, the LG has today tendered his resignation to President Pranab Mukherjee, 18 months ahead of the end of his tenure saying that he wanted to return to academics. Mr Jung also thanked Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Mr Kejriwal for their cooperation. The resignation comes after a stint marked by several raging controversies and confrontations between the Delhi Government and the LG on many issues. (UNI)
