Kerala CM Pinarayi Vijayan tests positive for COVID-19

Thiruvananthapuram: Kerala Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan tested positive to COVID-19 on Thursday.

On Wednesday, the Chief Minister's daughter Ms Veena Vijayan tested positive to the virus. The COVID test was conducted on the Chief Minister after her daughter was diagnosed with the Coronavirus infection. He had received the first dose of COVID vaccine on March three.

The Chief Minister, who is now at his residence in Kannur, will be treated at the Kozhikode Government Medical College Hospital.

Those who have been in contact with him recently should go into self-observation, an official press release said.

His son-in-law Mohammed Riyas also had tested Covid positive the other day.

Now, the Health Secretary is reviewing the situation and planning to form a medical board to review the Chief Minister's COVID treatment. There is also plans to send experts from Thiruvananthapuram to Kozhikode for his treatment. However, the condition of the Chief Minister is stable. (UNI)
