Kochi: The Kerala High Court on Wednesday stayed a Kozhikode Sessions Court order granting bail to social activist and writer Civic Chandran in a sexual harassment case.

Justice Kauser Edappagath issued the order while considering a plea moved by the state government seeking to cancel the anticipatory bail granted to Civic Chandran.

On August 12, the Kozhikode Sessions Court granted the bail observing that the sexual harassment case will not stand if the victim was wearing "sexually provocative dresses".

Earlier, Judge S Krishnakumar, who made the controversial remarks, was transferred and posted as a judge in the Kollam Labour Court. Manjeri District and Sessions Judge S Muralikrishnan is the new Kozhikode district and sessions judge. (UNI)
