Thiruvananthapuram: Amid COVID pandemic, only 25,000 devotees will be allowed for darshan in the world-famous Ayyappa temple at Sabarimala every day during the ensuing Mandalam-Makaravilakku festival, Kerala Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan has said.

The devotees below 10 years and above 65 years age group will also be allowed for pilgrimage, a decision in this regard was taken at a high-level meeting Chaired by the Chief Minister.

The devotees, who booked through online 'Virtual Q' system, will be allowed for darshan every day. and they must produce certificate of two doses of COVID-19 vaccination or RT-PCR negative report.

However, the devotees will not be allowed to move through traditional forest paths of Erumeli and Pulmedu.

Devotees will be allowed for taking bath at Pamba river. Pilgrims will not be allowed to stay at Sannidhanam at Sabarimala due to COVID restrictions. (UNI)
