Kollam: In a Government school, 15 teachers were locked inside a room allegedly by CPI(M) workers supporting the nationwide trade union strike in Kerala on Tuesday.
The protestors locked the teachers inside a room of the Government school at Chithara here in protest against they attending work, sources said.
The agitators led by PTA President and CPM local committee member S Shibulal led the protest.
Meanwhile, the teachers alleged that the police failed to take action against the protesters who disrupted the functioning of the school.
Trade Unions across the nation are on a strike from Monday against several issues including abolishing of the labour laws, formation of labour code, rise in prices of petrol, diesel and gas, reduction in interest rate on the Provident Fund(PF) among others. (UNI)
