Kidambi Srikanth loses Badminton men's single quarters

Rio De Janeiro: India's medal drought in the ongoing Rio Olympics continued for the 12th consecutive day today as Kidambi Srikanth
lost his men's single badminton quarters to Lin Dan of China. Despite losing the first set 21-6, the 23-year-old Indian shuttler made a strong comeback in the second set to win it 21-11.

The final set saw a well-fought battle from both the sides as Lin Dan took a 6-3 lead in the initial stage, but Srikanth levelled the score at 7-7 and further took the lead in his favour, making it 12-9. The Guntur boy then took the score to 17-19, however, his Chinese opponent also showed some terrific skills to bounce back in the game, making it 21-18.With this loss, India's hope in badminton now solely relies on PV Sindhu, who has already entered the semis of badminton women's singles.(UNI)
