Leading Engineering Colleges in Kerala Accepting JEE Main Score

Kerala is not only known for its highest literacy rate in the country, but it has also turned to be an educational hotbed for engineering aspirants. In this article, we explore the most popular Engineering Colleges in the state that accepts the score of JEE Main exam for the convenience of candidates who are scouting for reputable institutions for their desired engineering degree.
Indian Institute of Space Science and Technology (IIST), Thiruvananthapuram
 
IIST is an autonomous institution under the Department of Space, Government of India. The institute is a first of its kind in India, imparting education in the fields of space sciences, space technology and space applications. In 2017, IIST ranked 28th among all engineering institutes, 35th among all universities and 56th overall among all institutions in the NIRF listing.
 
The institute offers B. Tech (Avionics/ Aerospace Engineering) with annual intake capacity of 120. Cost of pursuing B. Tech at IIST is INR 2.85 lakh. Candidates need to clear either JEE Main/ ISST Exam/ ISAT/ IIST Admissions UG/ or JEE Advanced to be eligible to apply at IIST. Average package offered in 2019 placements so far is 10.3 lakh. Interestingly, a large number of students are absorbed by ISRO.
 
National Institute of Technology, Calicut (NITC)
 
NITC is a technical education establishment of national importance. Established in 1961 as Regional Engineering College under the University of Kerala, the institute was elevated to the autonomous national institute level in the year 2002. At present, NITC offers B. Arch and B. Tech (Civil/ Computer Science/ Electrical & Electronics/ Electronics & Communication/ Mechanical/ Chemical/ Production/ Biotechnology/ Engineering Physics) programs to candidates with valid JEE Main/ DASA UG scores. Its annual intake capacity is 890 while the overall annual fee for B.Tech program is 2.06 lacs.
 
Indian Institute of Information Technology (IIIT-K), Kottayam
 
IIIT-K is one among the 20 new IIITs proposed to be set up across the country by Government of India. The institute has been set up in a public-private partnership with funding from both Central and State Governments as well as Private Players. IIIT-K offers B. Tech (Computer Science & Engineering) with an annual intake capacity of 90. JEE Main is the only entrance test accepted for admissions in IIIT-K. It will cost you INR 5.40 lakh to pursue your B. Tech here. Internships and placements are excellent enough for IIT-K, with companies like TCS, Bosch etc. lining up to hire students according to their requirement.
 
Mar Athanasius College of Engineering (MACE), Kothamangalam
 
One of the pioneers in engineering education in Kerala, MACE, Kothamangalam is considered amongst the top three choices by engineering aspirants in the region. NBA and AICTE duly accredit this government-aided establishment. The B.Tech (Civil/ Computer Science/ Electrical & Electronics/ Electronics & Communication/ Mechanical) program offered at MACE have an annual intake capacity of 540. Both JEE Main and KEAM scores are accepted for admissions. Annual Tuition Fee is less than fifty-five thousand.
 
MES College of Engineering (MESCE), Malappuram
 
MESCE is widely regarded as one of the premier institutions imparting technical education in Kerala, with special consideration for educationally backward communities. This private college offers eight undergraduate programs including B Arch, and B.Tech (Civil/ Computer Science/ Electrical & Electronics/ Applied Electronics & Instrumentation/ Mechanical/ Information Technology). The Annual Intake Capacity is 540 for B.Tech and 40 for B. Arch. JEE Main, KEAM, and NATA scores are accepted for admissions. It would cost you INR 133,800 per year to study B.Tech at MESCE.
