NEW DELHI: Delhi welcomed Lord Ram in its true spirits as Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal led two crore people of Delhi in the grand Dilli Ki Diwali celebrations today at the Thyagraj Stadium. The entire Delhi Cabinet performed the Diwali Puja before a symbolic but magnificent replica of the Ram Mandir of Ayodhya, crafted especially for the occasion. The Puja ceremony was held under the supervision of the head priest of the iconic Jhandewalan Temple. At the occasion, Anuradha Podwal and Geeta Chandran captivated the audience with their scintillating performances that filled the atmosphere with devotion.
A state-of-the-art, magnificent 30-ft high and 80-ft wide symbolic replica of the Ram Mandir of Ayodhya was crafted especially at the Thyagraj Stadium for the Dilli Ki Diwali celebrations. Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal led the Diwali Puja along with his wife Smt Sunita Kejriwal as he prayed for the peace and prosperity of all the Delhiites as well as the people of India. A gorgeous light and sound show along with a live act was also held at the event to depict scenes from the Ramayana which left everyone in awe. During the event, Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia, Environment Minister Gopal Rai, Health Minister Satyendar Jain, Transport Minister Kailash Gahlot, Food and Supplies Minister Imran Hussain, Social Welfare Minister Rajendra Pal Gautam, Delhi Legislative Assembly Speaker Ram Niwas Goel and Deputy Speaker Rakhi Birla among other high-ranking dignitaries and MLAs were present with their spouses.
The divine ceremony was broadcast live on social media platforms, along with various TV channels, so that people from Delhi and all over the country could come together to celebrate the legacy of Lord Ram. People of Delhi and across the country took the opportunity to perform Diwali Puja along with their families, by joining this grand worship ceremony through the TV in their respective homes.
Eminent Singers Anuradha Podwal and Kavita Podwal were present to grace the event with their melodious voices. Geeta Chandran captivated people as she performed the Ganesh Vandana. The Puja was performed with complete vidhi vidhan under the supervision of the Pujari of the revered Jhandewalan Temple in which all the ministers and dignitaries, including Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal, took part. Post this, Anuradha Podwal and Kavita Podwal performed the Maha Aarti in which the entirety of the audience thoroughly enjoyed.
