LS bypolls in Assam, MP, WB to be held on Nov 19: EC

New Delhi: The Election Commission today announced that the by-elections in four Lok Sabha constituencies from three states-- Assam, Madhya Pradesh and West Bengal would be held on November 19. The Parliamentary Constituencies where polling will be held are Lakhimpur (Assam), Shahdol (ST) (Madya Pradesh) and Coochbehar (SC), Tamluk, both from West Bengal. The date of issue of gazette notification for the polls in these constituencies is October 26, while the last date of nomination is November 2. The nominations will be scrutinised on November 3, while the last date for withdrawal of candidatures is November 5.
 

Counting will be taken up on November 22, while the date before which election is to be completed is November 24. The Model Code of Conduct will come into force with immediate effect in the districts, in which the Assembly constituencies are going to bypolls.

Polls in TN's Aravakurichi,Thanjavur to be held on Nov 19: EC

Tamil Nadu's two Assembly constituencies--Aravakurichi and Thanjavur and state's Thiruparankundram Assembly constituency would go to the polls on November 19. The Poll Panel today also announced that the by-election for the Nellithope constituency in Puducherry will be held on November 19. The date of issue of gazette notification for polls in these three Assembly constituencies of Tamil Nadu and for the Nellithope constituency in Puducherry is October 26 and while the last date of nomination is November 2.
