In the sprawling landscape of India's industrial prowess, Madhya Pradesh emerges as a stronghold, illuminating the pharmaceutical and medical devices sectors with promise and innovation. Nestled amidst the heart of India, Madhya Pradesh has been steadily transforming into a key investment destination for this sector. With a strategic focus on fostering growth through technology adoption and investment facilitation, the state is poised to redefine the global landscape in these critical sectors.

Pharmaceutical Powerhouse:

India's dominance in the global pharmaceutical market is undeniable, and within this landscape, Madhya Pradesh stands tall with its robust ecosystem. The state hosts a network of 270 plus pharmaceutical units, including 39 API/bulk drug manufacturing units, with over 50 plus units adhering to WHO-GMP standards. These establishments are not only catering to the domestic market but are also exporting their products to more than 160 countries worldwide. The sector's contribution to the state's exports surged to 20.5% in FY 2022, underscoring its pivotal role in driving economic growth.

Madhya Pradesh's pharmaceutical prowess is further amplified by its visionary initiatives, such as the development of upcoming pharma parks across the State. These parks will serve as incubators for innovation, offering state-of-the-art infrastructure and a conducive environment for research and development. Moreover, with stalwarts like Sun Pharma, Lupin, Glenmark, Cipla, Mylan, Dabur, Aristo, IPCA etc are anchoring their operations in the state, Madhya Pradesh is cementing its position as a pharmaceutical powerhouse on the global stage.

Medical Devices Manufacturing Hub:

The global market for medical devices is witnessing exponential growth, and India, under the ambitious 'Make in India' initiative, is positioning itself as a frontrunner in this arena. Leveraging schemes like the Production Linked Incentive (PLI) scheme and the Promotion of Medical Devices Parks Scheme, the state government is incentivizing large-scale manufacturing and facilitating investments across sub-sectors.

One of the four proposed Medical Device (MD) Parks by the Government of India is established in Madhya Pradesh, showcasing the state's emergence as a hub for medical devices manufacturing alongside its existing engineering and plastics ecosystems. In line with its advancements in pharmaceuticals, Madhya Pradesh is rapidly establishing itself as a focal point for medical device production. The state's dedication to facilitating growth is evident through the establishment of the expansive Vikram Udyogpuri Limited, Medical Device Park in Ujjain, spanning 360 acres and offering affordable land and infrastructure. With a focus on various sectors such as medical imaging, implant manufacturing, surgical instruments, and wearables, Madhya Pradesh is laying the groundwork for a thriving environment conducive to innovation and investment.
