Maharashtra: Tigress with ‘chopped paws’ found dead in Yavatmal

Nagpur: A four-year-old tigress was found dead with two of its paws chopped off at a forest in Maharashtra’s Yavatmal district, sources said on Monday.

According to the sources the tiger was found dead near a nullah at around 2230 hrs on Sunday in the Mukutban range of Pandharkawda forest in Yavatmal district.

The tiger had injuries on its body and its two front paws were chopped off, sources said

Sources further said that an iron wire was also found around its neck.

A postmortem was conducted to find out the exact cause of death and its report was awaited, sources said adding that a probe into this matter has begun. (UNI)
