New Delhi: Aam Aadmi Party Delhi convenor Dilip Pandey today resigned from the post following AAP's debacle in the MCD polls and asked party chief Arvind Kejriwal to appoint someone else. "I have resigned from the post of AAP Delhi Convenor, conveyed to National Convenor @ArvindKejriwal to give this responsibility to someone else," Mr Pandey tweeted.
His resignation comes hours after AAP Chandni Chowk MLA Alka Lamba announced her resignation from the Assembly and other posts of the party for defeat of three candidates in her constituency. The party which rode to power in Delhi by winning 67 out 70 Assembly seats has managed to get only 47 seats of the 270 wards of all the three Municipal Corporations. The ruling BJP today secured a hat-trick of victories in the MCDs by winning 183 seats. (UNI)
