, Saturday, 3 December 2016 (17:51 IST)
Moradabad: Terming that the people who were standing in the queues of the banks and the ATMs as the honest citizens of the country, Prime Minister Narendra Modi today attacked the Opposition saying that only the corrupts were raising voices against the demonetisation move and holding the Centre responsible for the problems of the common masses.

"Shouldn't I fight corruption? Is fighting against corruption a crime? Why are some people calling me wrong," PM Modi said while addressing a Parivartan rally here today. "I am surprised that in my own country few people are accusing me for everything. Is it a fault to make a looted country accountable," PM Modi asked.

He asked the people whether they wanted a corruption-free India or a corruption prevailing India. PM Modi said, "Aajkal log poora din 'Modi, Modi, Modi' kar rahein hai, pehle bolte the ‘Money, Money, money' (People who used to say Money, Money are now reciting Modi, Modi). He said that he did not care what the black money holders thought about him but what bothered him was the satisfaction of the common people.

"Jyada se jyada kya kar lenge, arey hum toh faqir aadmi hai, jhola leke nikal lenge (what can they do me, I am a wanderer and can go in the oblivion anytime)," he commented on the opposition's attack. Asking people not to withdraw money from their 'Jan Dhan' account if the deposited amount was of any corrupt person, the PM said," I am finding ways to put behind the bars those guilty of stashing their black money into the Jan Dhan accounts of the poor." "Dishonest people can't go to the banks now and so they are queuing up outside the homes of the poor and trying to mislead them", PM Modi said. (UNI)
