Kendrapara: A 60-year old mother was beaten to death by her son on Thursday at Praharajpur village under Rajnagar police station as she took some time to serve food.According to IIC of Rajnagar police station Sukant Kumar Patra, 37-year old Sashikanta Biswal, who was deserted by his wife and staying with his mother, asked his mother, Srimati Biswal, to provide him lunch.
As his mother slightly delayed to serve him lunch, Sashikanta in a fit of rage allegedly hit his mother's head with a wooden log killing her on the spot.Acting on the information, Rajanagar police rushed to the spot, seized the body of Srimati Biswal and sent for autopsy to Aul CHC.
Rajanagar police later registered a case in this connection and arrested accused Sashikanta Biswal who will be produced before the local court on Friday, the IIC said.(UNI)
