New Delhi: Madhya Pradesh Irrigation and Parliamentary Affairs Minister Narottam Mishra was today disqualified by the Election Commission for what it said as concealing election expenditures vis-a-vis a series of paid news
.
The disqualification of the legislator from Datia would stand for three years, official sources said here. Congress leader Rajendra Bharti had approached the Election Commission in 2012 complaining that Mr Mishra had paid 'for news' without accounting the same in his election expenditures.
The case had dragged even to the Supreme Court when the apex court had rejected the plea of Mr Mishra to quash the notification and orders of poll panel.(UNI)
