Sagar (MP): A deputy postmaster has been placed under arrest for allegedly siphoning off more than Rs 1 crore of depositors’ savings in this district and blowing it on IPL betting, police said.
Vishal Ahirwar was apprehended earlier this week following a complaint lodged by some victims who smelt a rat when their respective amounts did not register in their passbooks.
Preliminary investigation revealed that the money was not even at the Post Office any longer and the needle of suspicion pointed towards Ahirwar. (UNI)
