Mumbai: A specially-abled 14-year-old girl was allegedly kidnapped and raped in a moving taxi in Mumbai.
Police have arrested two men, including the taxi driver, in connection with the case.
Both the accused, identified as Salman Sheikh (26) and taxi driver Prakash Pandey, were arrested under the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act.
According to Malbar Hill police station, the incident happened on September 18 when the minor had an argument with her family, after which she decided to visit her relatives in Malvani.
An official said the victim girl took a taxi from south Mumbai to Malad. During her journey, taxi driver Pandey became friendly with the girl and picked up his friend Salman Shaikh on the way.
Police further said that both of them later allegedly raped her in a moving taxi.
Upon reaching her relative, she narrated the whole incident to her aunty, and then a complaint was lodged, and with the help of CCTV camera footage, the accused were arrested. (UNI)
