Naga framework pact will not harm Manipur's interests, asserts PM

Imphal: Prime Minister Narendra Modi today assured the people of Manipur that nothing will be done by his government that will harm the interest of the northeastern state. Addressing an election rally here, Mr Modi said, "There is not a single word in Naga Framework Agreement that's against the interest of Manipur". In his speech, the Prime Minister castigated the state government headed by O Ibobi Singh and alleged that Congress did nothing for the state in last 15 years.
 

"If last 15 years, any part is responsible for decline of Manipur it is the Congress party....That party (Congress) has lost right to rule Manipur even for a single day," he said. "Give BJP a chance to serve Manipur for five years, our government will deliver what Congress could not do in last 15 years," the Prime Minister said. "We will do in 15 months, what Congress did not do in 15 years," Mr Modi said. The Prime Minister said development of north east region is vital for the development of entire India and pointed out his government's focused approach to push the Act East Policy. (UNI)
