Bengaluru: Off-spinner Nathan Lyon took career best 8 for 50 as India in its first innings tumbled to 189 all out in 71.2 overs against Australia on the opening day of the second test match being played at M Chinnaswamy Stadium here today. The top scorer of Indian innings was KL Rahul who scored 90 runs before getting out on an awkard shot on Nathan’s bowl. Australian openers successfully saw off the Indian spin attack till the end of the day’s play and were 40-0 after the end of 16 overs.
The Indian batting line up never showed intent to spend more time at the crease. Most of the batsmen got out due to the poor shot selection. The worse was two stumpings in the Indian middle order which displayed their casual approach despite being drubbed by oz in pune test. (UNI)
