Mumbai: The Maharashtra government on Tuesday rejected the spying charge levelled by an NCB officer probing the drug case lodged against Bollywood superstar Shah Rukh Khan's son Aryan Khan and several others.
Zonal Director of Narcotic Control Bureau (NCB) Sameer Wankhede lodged a complaint on Monday against Mumbai Police for allegedly monitoring his movement.
However, the allegation was denied by Maharashtra Home Minister Dilip Walse-Patil.
Wankhede, investigating the recent cruise drugs bust case that took place off the Mumbai coast on October 2, in which several others along with Aryan were arrested, alleged "spying by local cops".
Maharashtra Home Minister Dilip Walse-Patil on Tuesday told mediapersons that there was no monitoring of Wankhede by the city police force as has been alleged. He also declined any follow-up activities by state police.
Wankhede filed the police complaint in Mumbai alleging that two policemen were monitoring his movements while he regularly visited the cemetery at Oshiwara where his mother was buried in 2015.
In his complaint he stated that two police officer from the Oshiwara police station allegedly went to the cemetery and took CCTV footage of the area to monitor his movement.
Wankhede has also investigated the 2020 drug cases linked to the death of actor Sushant Singh Rajput and several other matters related to narcotics involving high-profile people. (UNI)
