New Delhi: Union Minister of State for Home Kiren Rijiju today hit back at AIMIM leader Asaduddin Owaisi over his remark on Hyderabad blasts verdict, saying the investigative agencies did not discriminate on religious background. “Investigating agencies do not discriminate on religious background. This is a frivolous charge,” the Minister tweeted. Sparking a fresh controversy, Mr Owaisi had yesterday said: “Why can’t the Premier Investigating Agencies of the country show same urgency to convict all alleged terrorist cases including demolition of Babri Masjid which is pending since 1992?”

Hitting out at BJP Government at the Centre, he said, “Do not be surprised the way NIA is pursuing those bomb blast cases where accused are non-Muslims as they will be exonerated because of Ache Din?” Mr Rijiju said the National Investigation Agency (NIA) was doing its work and it was wrong to blame the agency on the lines of religion.
