NIA arrest 2 youths with suspected ISIS links

Tirunelveli:  National Investigation Agency (NIA) sleuths today arrested a 31-year-old man with suspected ISIS links at Kadayanallur in this Southern district of Tamil Nadu. Preliminary reports quoting sources in police said based on credible information provided yesterday by six incarcerated members of an ISIS inspired module from Kerala, who were reportedly planning to carry out attacks at various places across the country, the NIA sleuths arrested the youth Subhani (31) from a house located at Khadermoideen Pallivasal Street at Kadayanallur.

He was immediately taken to Kerala for further interrogation. The local police were tight lipped over the arrest of ISIS suspect. Further details were awaited. The NIA also arrested two ISIS sympathizers namely I.Nawas (24) and A.Uvaisi Rahman (22) after a search operation at Ukkadam in Coimbatore district, last night. The NIA team reportedly seized some incriminating materials, including electronic devices from their house. With this, three ISIS suspects were arrested in Tamil Nadu, the sources added. (UNI)
