Jammu: The much publicised Nagrota attack in which seven soldiers attained martyrdom and three terrorists were killed, will be handed over to the National Investigation Agency, an official here today said. "The investigation into November 29 Nagrota attack will be handed over to the NIA and an order in this context has already been issued,’’ top police official here told UNI. Officials said that earlier the investigations were handed over to the state based CID-Counter Intelligence (CI) wing headed by the SSP Tejinder Singh.
"The NIA team will be visiting the Nagrota site in a couple of days to initiate the probe,’’ an official told UNI. He however, said that some vital clues have been collected during the probe but investigations are still under progress. Earlier on August 5, 2015, Udhampur attack case was also handed over to the NIA, in which three BSF personnel martyred, a Lashkar militant was killed and one identified as Mohammad Naved was arrested alive. A team of NIA, a central probe agency was created after the 2008 Mumbai attack.
